Glass-Only Replacements — Save Hundreds When the Frame Is Fine
Broken, fogged, or cracked window glass doesn't always mean you need a full window replacement. In most cases, Premier Glass can replace just the glass unit — saving you hundreds of dollars compared to a full window replacement while restoring your window's appearance and energy performance.
During your measure appointment, we assess the frame condition and give you a clear recommendation. If the frame is solid, glass-only is the right call. If it's compromised, we'll tell you that too — and give you pricing for both options so you can make an informed decision.
Fogged Window Repair — IGU Seal Replacement
Fogging between window panes is one of the most common calls we receive from Michigan homeowners. It happens when the factory seal on a double-pane insulated glass unit (IGU) fails — allowing moisture to enter the space between the panes. Once the seal fails, the fogging cannot be cleaned from the inside.
The solution is IGU replacement — not full window replacement. We remove the failed glass unit from your existing frame, order a new IGU to the exact specification, and install it. The result looks and performs like a new window at a fraction of the cost. Most IGU replacements are completed in a single visit.
Sliding Patio Door — Glass Replacement or Full New System
Sliding patio door glass is a common replacement need — whether from impact damage, seal failure, or upgrading to energy-efficient glass. Premier Glass replaces the glass panel in your existing patio door frame without requiring a full door replacement in most cases.
If your patio door frame is damaged, outdated, or you want to upgrade to a new sliding door system, we handle complete door installations as well — full demo of the old door and frame, new door installation, and trim. Energy Efficient Glass Upgrades
Michigan's climate — with cold winters and warm summers — makes energy-efficient glass a smart investment. When replacing window glass or patio door panels, upgrading to Low-E (low-emissivity) insulated glass units improves your home's thermal performance without replacing frames or doing major renovation work.
Low-E glass has a microscopically thin coating that reflects heat while allowing natural light to pass through. In winter, it keeps heat inside. In summer, it reduces solar heat gain. Most replacement IGUs we install include Low-E coating as standard — ask about your options during the quote visit.
